I just wanted to say a big ‘thank you’ to all my visitors – whether you have been to Montisi this year, booked to come soon, visited my website or simply ‘liked’ my facebook page. Thank you so much for expressing an interest in Montisi Magica.
Montisi Magica has had a very busy year so far with a group here in Montisi in May enjoying a Creative Break. They have all said they are coming back and have sent me some wonderful testimonials which I wanted to share with you:
“I had THE most wonderful, unusual, character building, sort of life changing time there…I shouldn’t think anyone else would be as caring and hands on as you Ann. You were truly amazing and made me feel so at ease. Brilliant!”
Lynda, Manchester May 2013
“A most memorable and well organised experience with like-minded people.Contrasting activities, tasty dishes to create and excellent wines and cheeses to sample, in and around this picturesque village set in the wonderful Tuscan countryside. We will be back to sample a lot more!”
Rob and Mary White, North Wales May 2013.
“I had a fabulous week with Montisi Magica. I felt at home in Montisi from the good Tuscan food and live music at the bar on the first evening to a whistle stop tour of Arezzo and Pienza via chocolate and cheese shops on the last afternoon with the activity filled cooking, painting, tasting, eating and drinking of the week between. I loved it and I will be back.”
Tricia, Manchester May 2013.
“I cooked, drank, walked, saw, ate and laughed for a glorious week away. For a taste of the Italian way of life you cannot do better. The cooking was a joy, and Liz who teaches painting to all comers has that patience of a saint, everyone comes out of her class regardless of their ability going in, with a painting. Ann Alexander has the finger on the pulse of her community. She picks her wine cellars her cheese maker, and places of interest with care so there is a welcome on arrival and delicious food and wine on the go! Her guide to Siena a lovely young woman, sophisticated, knowledgeable and delightful, no queuing, no jostling to try and listen to what is being said, this was a real treat. I shall go back, more than likely with a group of hand picked friends to do it all again!”
Jennifer, London May 2013.
“What a wonderful week we had. Thank you Ann, for making it one of our most memorable holidays ever.
We loved Montisi and having such great company made it very special. I was tempted to use the ‘Mama Mia’ exclamation when buying an extortionately overpriced coffee today. We have been ruined forever after having the fabulous (and cheap) Italian coffee.”
Wendy and Tony, England May 2013.
There is another Creative Break planned for the week commencing 14th September 2013 and I have a few places left if you or any of your friends or colleagues would like to join. Accommodation is at the beautiful Villa Maddalena in the village and the week is priced at just £1500pp excluding flights and based upon two sharing. For more info as to what’s included click here.
June has been busy with various Montisi Magica guests, the last of whom left on Wednesday and thanked me for his “Rolls Royce” experience. He too has promised to return next year.
In August I have my first group from across the pond – a group of wine-loving Canadians here for a ten day wine and culinary tour of Tuscany and I have arranged for them to stay in Florence to visit the Chianti wine region and then in Pienza to sample the Brunellos of Montalcino and the Vino Nobile of Montepulciano. In addition I have planned wonderful restaurant experiences for them and some surprises including a morning out truffle hunting.
At the end of August I am delighted to be welcoming Giancarlo Caldesi of ‘Caffe Caldesi’ and ‘Caldesi in Campagna’ on his return to Tuscany. Giancarlo was born very close by in Montepulciano and is coming to Montisi to teach a week long cookery course – everything you ever wanted to know about Tuscan food. The week which runs from the 31st August to 7th September will be full of food, wine and fun and of course there will be a day trip to the local ‘foodie’ market and a day out of tastings – wines, cheeses and olive oils. I do have just 4 places left if you would like to come. For more info click here.
I have also had a number of other bookings from families, couples and friends who have asked me to put trips together especially for them and I am looking forward to welcoming them here over the next few months. They have booked all sorts of activities including walking, cooking, touring and quad biking. If you would like me to do the same for you just let me know.
The summer has been slow in arriving this year but is now here and the days are long and warm.
I hope you are having an enjoyable summer too.
Wishing you all the very best and hope to see you soon in Tuscany.
